A Networking and System Operator is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of computer networks and systems. This includes installing, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading hardware and software components. As a Networking and System Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring system performance and providing technical support to end users. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring the security of the network and systems.
Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computer networks.
Monitor network performance and security.
Set up user accounts, permissions and passwords
Ensure network connectivity of all workstations, servers, and other network devices.
Monitor and maintain firewall and other security measures.
Provide technical support to users (e.g. diagnose and resolve network-related issues).
Manage the installation and maintenance of network hardware and software.
Maintain and update network documentation, diagrams and designs.
Monitor and troubleshoot network related issues.
Perform regular system monitoring and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Knowledge of LAN/WAN, routing protocols, and server technologies
Knowledge of network protocols, network security, and network design
Experience with network hardware, such as routers and switches
Understanding of networking concepts, such as IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, and routing
Knowledge of operating systems such as Linux and Windows
Experience with virtualization, cloud computing, and storage systems
Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues
Excellent communication and customer service skills
