Job Title: Network Security Engineer Cisco ASA to FTD Migration (L2 Support)

We are looking for a skilled L2 Network Security Engineer with hands-on experience in migrating Cisco ASA firewalls to Cisco FTD (Firepower Threat Defense) platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing migration activities, ensuring seamless transition with minimal downtime, and supporting post-migration validation. Key Responsibilities
Perform end-to-end migration from Cisco ASA to Cisco FTD firewalls, including planning, configuration, and cutover.
Conduct pre-migration assessments, backup of existing configurations, and readiness checks.
Implement Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC) configurations and policies.
Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity, security policy, and performance issues during and after migration.
Coordinate with L3 / architecture teams for escalation and design alignment.
Maintain detailed documentation of migration steps, configurations, and post-migration reports.
Provide L2 operational support for security infrastructure as required. Required Skills & Experience
Strong hands-on experience with Cisco ASA and Cisco FTD (Firepower Threat Defense) platforms.
Proficiency in Cisco FMC (Firepower Management Center) for policy and device management.
Solid understanding of firewall policies, NAT, VPN, ACLs, and routing.
Experience in firewall migration projects (ASA to FTD preferred).
Familiarity with Cisco migration tools and best practices.
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills at the L2 level.
Strong communication and documentation abilities. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Cisco certifications preferred: CCNA Security, CCNP Security, or equivalent hands-on expertise.
3 5 years of relevant experience in network security operations or firewall management. Nice to Have
Exposure to other security platforms (Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortinet).
Experience working in enterprise migration or managed service environments.
Basic scripting knowledge (Python, Bash) for automation is a plus.
