o Develop Best Practices documentation


o Maintain a library of scripts/programs and example code demonstrating documented Best Practices.


o Work with NaaS and Cloud Automation teams to port automation system API calls to the NG DDI (TCPWave).


o Identify service requirements of differing upstream and downstream systems.


o Ensure proper and limited API access.


o Ensure API service monitoring, auditing and reporting.


o Investigate and collect requirements of future API use cases




Documentation and Communication:


o Develop service migration communication materials


o Work with DNS Operations to produce the Run Book and operational process documentation


o Change implement and notification communications




Project Management:


o Provide tasks and dependencies for detailed project plans


o Provide regular status updates


o Align to timeline and deliverable requirements



Experience with:


DNS - Configuration, troubleshooting, managing DNS primaries, secondaries, zone delegation, etc...


DHCP - Configuration, troubleshooting, managing.


IPAM - Systems such as QIP or TCPWave.




Programming Languages:


o Perl


Python

o Bourne Shell


o Javascript


Operating Systems:


o Redhat or some Linux distribution


o Microsoft Windows


o Mac OSX


o 7+ years of experience with Linux operating systems including operations in a large scale enterprise environment.


o 7+ years of Systems Engineering/Administration including experience in a large, distributed environment


o Practical scripting and development experience in shell, Perl or Python and/or other automation tools. Ability to write and understand codes at Software Developer level is required.


o Experience with system and application monitoring, software distribution


o Experience with common internet protocols and services including TCP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSH, TFTP, and LDAP


o Experience building enterprise-wide solutions using proprietary systems



This position description describes DDI (DNS, DHCP & IPAM) planning, and support role required to satisfy ongoing and future demands of DDI services. A combination of knowledge and practical experience sufficient to provide architectural insights, engineering guidance and practical run-the-business support for current and future DDI services. Next generation DDI will be self sensing, organic, automatable and agile. Individuals in this role must be adequately equipped and capable of navigating the "As-A-Service" REST API service approach.




This is a migration of the legacy DDI (VitalQIP) systems currently hosted in the legacy data centers to Data Center of the future facilities.

Migration to New Generation DDI:

Migrate from VitalQIP to TCPWave:


Develop, deploy and operate support tools and reports. Coordinate system integration with down stream applications and services Develop a DDI migration methodology and processes (VitalQIP to new system) Develop and document a migration plan for each subsystem: + IPAM
+ DNS Primaries and Secondaries
+ DHCP Primaries and failovers
Identify and mitigate risks, protect against outages Manage DDI infrastructure deployment

DDI REST API:
