Job Summary Responsible for detailed design, implementation coordination and technical lead level resourcing for new product integration across Comcast\'s converged IP Network, at a market or infrastructure level. Accountable for monitoring and influencing relevant standards bodies across Transport and IP layer to influence and incorporate emerging technologies that reduce costs, increase flexibility and drive better scale across Comcast Infrastructure. Design, beta and launch new integrated voice, video and data products across Converged Network. Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment. May lead teams or projects and shares expertise. Core Responsibilities Engineering design and support CRAN services - high speed data, video, voice, and business services products. Lead efforts to automate internal processes and tools in order to improve overall consistency in routine engineering task execution. Drive towards an environment and architecture where programming networks can replace a model of traditional network configuration. Support and/or improve best practices and procedures for network installation, maintenance and operation. Lead the Network Engineering plan of record including, business requirements, network strategy, project priority and financial budget plan. Demonstrate leadership in the development and planning for the roll-out of future hardware and software versions of CRAN/Commercial network devices. Model network capacity for failure scenarios to proactively predict routing and topology changes. Monitor network capacity, plan and implement market augments as necessary. Exercise sound judgment during site design, network configuration, and network activation to ensure efficient use of funds and time. Participate and/or lead assigned interdepartmental technical projects. Communicate applicable design guidelines and provide guidance to regional markets to ensure compliance to network design standards. Prior network engineering and support experience, 5+ years preferred. Strong knowledge of IP routing and switching (ISIS, OSPF and BGP) Strong scripting skills required, in any of the following languages: Python, Perl, Unix, PHP, and MySQL Competent in the understanding and practical application of programming the network versus configuring networks Solid understanding of IPv4, IPv6, Multicast and QOS Extremely organized individual with the ability to manage multiple project, lead and/or participate on multiple project teams Solid business skills to effectively interact with internal business units and external vendors Additional experience in server-based technology, such as Microsoft and Unix is a plus Employees at all levels are expected to: Understand our Operating Principles make them the guidelines for how you do your job.
