Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dependable

Network Engineer

to provide

on-call technical support

for setting up, configuring, and virtually maintaining

physical server machines

and

Azure virtual environments

. This is not a full-time role and will be activated on an

as-needed basis

, especially during system upgrades, server installations, or troubleshooting events.

The ideal candidate is someone with a strong technical background in server infrastructure, cloud platforms (especially Microsoft Azure), and network configuration, who can jump in quickly to resolve issues and implement solutions with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:Server & Network Setup:

Install, configure, and maintain physical server machines (Windows/Linux-based). Assist in network setup, including routers, firewalls, switches, and VPN configuration. Implement best practices for server security, patch management, and access control. Conduct routine server diagnostics and performance monitoring during service windows.

Azure VM Management:

Set up and configure Azure virtual machines (VMs), storage accounts, and network security groups. Manage Azure Active Directory, backups, and virtual networking components. Monitor performance, manage scaling, and troubleshoot VM or connectivity issues. Assist with Azure cost optimization and resource governance.

Support & Documentation:

Provide on-call support for server or network incidents as needed. Document configurations, access protocols, and change logs. Advise on infrastructure scalability, backup solutions, and business continuity planning.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience). 2+ years of hands-on experience as a Network or Systems Engineer. Proficient in setting up and managing

Windows and/or Linux servers

. Proven experience with

Microsoft Azure infrastructure

, including VMs, Virtual Networks, and Azure AD. Strong understanding of IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls. Ability to work independently and resolve critical issues quickly and effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or higher. Experience with hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud). Familiarity with remote monitoring tools and RMM platforms. Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards (HIPAA, SOC 2, etc.).

. Expected response time: Within [24 hours] of being contacted for support. Must be available for occasional emergency after-hours support or scheduled maintenance windows. Remote work supported; physical access required only in rare cases (if applicable).
