Overview

Provide network technical support in the day to day management of the Link Groups network infrastructure.

Provide IT technical support to the Link Group business units to minimise IT network downtime and maximise IT systems productivity and availability. Provide technical support to assist in the resolution of network infrastructure related incidents. Provide a technical escalation point for 3rd parties in the ongoing support and management of the IT network infrastructure

Key Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities

Strategic Focus

• Maximising network uptime and performance
• High quality incident management and problem resolution within role scope.
• Ensure all devices under support are maintained at current patch levels

Operational Management

• Liaise with other Link Group IT teams to provide network support for existing systems
• Liaise with 3rd parties for support of vendor provided products and services that constitute part of the Link Group network (i.e. Telecommunications carriers, hardware vendors etc)
• Provide technical network support for all Link Group business systems and applications
• Provide technical support to the Link Group business units and the IT Infrastructure team as required
• Work closely with the Development, Product and Client Facing teams to meet all network infrastructure support requirements.
• Assist with the management of escalated Severity 1 and 2 issues as required.
• Create and maintain procedural support documentation
• Produce monthly network management reports
• Manage network monitoring tools and processes to ensure all devices are monitored and backed up appropriately
• Respond to all network incidents within designated SLA\'s.
• Participate in the on-call roster for 24x7 support.
• Attend required training and maintain appropriate qualifications for the role
• Regular attendance at management and team meetings
• Key IT stakeholder/owner of Link Group network infrastructure

Governance and Risk

• Ensure audit and compliance protocols are reviewed and complied with
• Ensure all work adheres to appropriate change management, audit and compliance protocols.

Performance Measures

• System availability trends
• System performance trends.

Experience & Personal Attributes

• Proven experience in the configuration and maintenance of LAN, WAN and Wireless infrastructure within a multi-vendor environment
• Demonstrated ability to configure and implement complex network systems
• Experience in deploying and supporting network technology in a complex, large scale environment.
• Experience with Cisco routing, switching, IP telephony & wireless technologies
• Knowledge and experience with a broad range of network vendors equipment including Cisco, Citrix, Fortinet, Riverbed and Checkpoint
• In depth knowledge and experience of network technologies such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, Ethernet switching and routing, IPsec, SSL VPN
• Knowledge and experience with Load Balancer technologies, DNS and GSLB
• Understanding of various WAN technologies
• Experience in 24x7 mission critical environment, preferably in the financial industry
• Working knowledge or prior experience with Cloud platforms, such as AWS and Azure
• Experience in supporting SSL certificate generation, renewals and troubleshooting
• Experience with Cisco Nexus Virtualisation technologies an advantage
• Working understanding of Windows Operating Systems including Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 2008, Windows 2012, Windows 2016, newer
• Knowledge of Windows Active Directory an advantage
• 2-5 years of experience in a related role.
• Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Computer Science/Information Technology.
• Production of quality documentation including diagrams, how-to guides and support manuals
• Ability to develop and maintain SLAs
• Experience in the preparation and maintenance of high quality incident and problem management reports
• Ability to approach technical issues and problems in an analytical and solutions focussed manner
• Work in a professional, transparent and accountable manner

• Good organisational skills with the discipline to complete daily operational tasks accurately and consistently
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
