Hiring for Network Engineer- Chennai
Key Responsibilities:
Network Design & Implementation:
Design, configure, and deploy LAN, WAN, and wireless networks to ensure high availability and performance.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Monitor, diagnose, and resolve network issues to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
Security Management:
Implement and manage network security measures such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
Performance Monitoring:
Use network monitoring tools to identify bottlenecks, potential failures, and capacity needs.
Documentation:
Maintain up-to-date network diagrams, configurations, and change logs.
Collaboration:
Work with IT, DevOps, and cybersecurity teams to ensure network reliability and compliance with security policies.
Vendor & Hardware Management:
Coordinate with vendors for hardware procurement, upgrades, and support contracts.
Automation & Optimization:
Automate routine network tasks and optimize configurations for scalability and efficiency.
Disaster Recovery:
Develop and maintain network backup and disaster recovery plans.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
Minimum [X] years of experience in network engineering, administration, or related roles.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, VLANs, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, etc.)
Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or Client network devices.
Proficiency in firewall configuration and management.
Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
Familiarity with VPNs, MPLS, VoIP, and SD-WAN technologies.
Understanding of network automation tools or scripting languages (Python, Ansible preferred).
Knowledge of cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, JNCIA/JNCIS, or AWS Certified Advanced Networking.
Experience in network security and compliance (ISO 27001, PCI DSS, etc.).
Knowledge of software-defined networking (SDN) and network virtualization (VMware NSX, Cisco ACI).
