Job Summary:

The Network and Data Center Administrator is responsible for installing

, configuring, maintaining

, and

monitoring

network systems and data center infrastructure. This role ensures optimal performance, uptime, and security across enterprise systems and supports both on-prem and hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Administration -

Manage LAN, WAN, VPN, Wi-Fi, and firewall configurations. Monitor network performance using tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG). Troubleshoot connectivity, latency, and routing issues. Maintain IP address management and network documentation. Apply security updates and manage access controls.

Data Center Operations -

Perform server installations, patching, and hardware upgrades. Manage racks, cabling, power distribution, and physical security. Monitor server performance and environmental conditions (temperature, power, etc.). Coordinate with vendors for hardware servicing and support.

Security & Compliance -

Ensure adherence to internal IT policies and external compliance standards. Support audits and maintain access logs and change records. Implement and enforce network and infrastructure security best practices.

Support & Troubleshooting -

Respond to incidents, service requests, and change tickets within SLAs. Perform routine maintenance and health checks on systems. Escalate unresolved issues to senior engineers or vendors as needed.

Documentation & Reporting -

Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation, diagrams, and inventory. Assist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and runbooks. Generate usage, uptime, and incident reports as required.

Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent. 5-7 years of experience in network or data center administration. Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and subnetting. Hands-on experience with network devices (Cisco, PaloAlto, etc.). Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and monitoring tools. Comfortable with Windows and/or Linux server environments.

Certifications (Preferred but not mandatory):

CCNA / CCNP

CompTIA Network+ / Server+

VMware VCP
