Education

: Educational Qualifications

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Civil / Production / Industrial Engineering

Experience In

PEB / Steel Structure / Fabrication Industry preferred

Key Responsibilities

1. Nesting & CNC Programming

Interpret fabrication and shop drawings to identify parts to be cut.

Prepare CNC nesting programs for plasma, oxy-fuel, and laser cutting machines (e.g., Messer,

Koike, Esab, Hypertherm).

Optimize material utilization and minimize off-cuts through effective nesting patterns.

Generate NC (Numerical Control) files and ensure compatibility with cutting machines.

2. Data Management & Documentation

Maintain records of nesting plans, material utilization reports, and cut lists.

Track plate usage and ensure traceability between raw materials and finished components.

Coordinate with the production, planning, and procurement teams for plate requirements.

3. Drawing & Design Coordination

Work closely with Design / Detailing Engineers to resolve drawing discrepancies.

Ensure that fabrication drawings are updated and correct before nesting.

Suggest design adjustments for improved manufacturability when needed.

4. Quality & Accuracy

Verify part dimensions and tolerances before finalizing nesting layouts.

Conduct pre-production checks to ensure correctness of CNC programs.

Support QA/QC in identifying and rectifying cutting errors or material mismatches.

5. Continuous Improvement

Analyze nesting performance and material yield efficiency.

Implement improvements in nesting patterns and software usage.

Train operators and coordinate with maintenance for smooth machine functioning.

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of PEB fabrication processes(cutting, drilling, welding, assembly).

Proficiency in Nesting Software such as:

Tekla EPM / X-Steel,

AutoNest, SigmaNEST, Hypertherm ProNest, NC Express, or equivalent.

Knowledge of AutoCAD for 2D drawing verification.

Familiar with plate thicknesses, grades (IS 2062, ASTM A36, etc.), and steel section profiles.

Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and strong communication skills.
