Job Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
Diagnose and manage patients with acute kidney injury (AKI), chronic kidney disease (CKD), glomerular diseases, and electrolyte disorders.
Provide comprehensive care for patients requiring hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
Supervise and manage dialysis units, ensuring quality and safety standards.
Manage renal transplant patients (pre- and post-transplant care), where applicable.
Conduct nephrology OPD and ward rounds for admitted patients.
Handle renal emergencies including hypertensive crises and fluid/electrolyte imbalances.
Patient Care & Safety
Ensure evidence-based treatment and patient-centered care.
Counsel patients and families regarding disease progression, dialysis options, and lifestyle modifications.
Maintain accurate medical records and follow medico-legal guidelines.
Academic & Quality Responsibilities (if applicable)
Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and morbidity meetings.
Teach and supervise junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff.
Stay updated with latest advancements in nephrology practice.
Administrative & Coordination Duties
Collaborate with intensivists, cardiologists, urologists, and transplant teams.
Develop and implement clinical protocols and SOPs for renal care.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH/JCI standards (if applicable).
