Responsibilities



Lead the Entire department of Naval Architects and provide guidance and support to all Structural, Naval Architects and drafters. Provide guidance and support to Structural/Mechanical engineers working in BWTS and Scrubber retrofit projects and new build designs. Hand-on experience in BWTS and/or Scrubber retrofit projects is a PLUS. Manage the team by providing the required technical and resource support to seamlessly work without any delay in the projects. Design, develop, and evaluate the construction and design of ships and installation of ship system concepts in the areas of ship hydrodynamics, system design, concept development, and detailed engineering. Prepare, plan the deliverables for the given project and estimate the manhours required to perform the different activities for the project. Ensuring standardization of drawings or process solutions to optimize cost and ensure implementation by the team along with cost over- run due to technical or engineering issues is avoided. Lead the team and assess the team's ability and assist the team to improve in their weakness by providing appropriate training. Ensuring that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guiding motivate and develop direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies and developing technical competency and skill set of engineering team. Manage the resources, provide support to the team and ensure completing the work on scheduled time with the best quality output. Monitor and assess performance of Deputy managers, Engineers and Drafters and perform employee appraisal reports. Monitor and optimize software usage by departments and avoid wastage of software hours.

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture. M. Tech degree in Naval Architecture is a

PLUS

7-9 years of experience in the Marine/offshore industry as Naval architect engineer.

Interacting with customer on project execution and commissioning support Interface with customers to maintain customer relationships. Experience with design concept studies and basic engineering with calculations like new hull development, resistance and propulsion design, equipment sizing, etc. Knowledge of key regulatory body rules, including regulations, directives, and statutes. Ability to work independently or as part of a design team preparing drawings and other design documents, review the work of other engineers for accuracy and correctness. Ability to lead and collaborate with vendor and client personnel and deliver the documents/drawings on schedule with top quality.
