Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and innovative
Naval Architect
to join our maritime engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, analysis, and performance evaluation of marine vessels and structures. This role requires a deep understanding of naval architecture principles, marine regulations, stability assessments, and integration with mechanical, electrical, and structural systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop hull forms, structural arrangements, and general arrangements (GA) for vessels.
Conduct hydrostatic, hydrodynamic, and structural analyses using industry-standard tools (e.g., Maxsurf, Rhino, AutoCAD, GHS, NAPA).
Evaluate and ensure vessel stability, strength, propulsion efficiency, and compliance with IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, and classification society rules (e.g., ABS, DNV, BV).
Collaborate with marine engineers, designers, and shipyards on new builds, retrofits, and conversion projects.
Develop computational models for stability and strength analysis.
Perform ship stability and longitudinal strength analysis and validate models.
Excellent problem-solving and algorithmic thinking skills.
Develop hydrostatic solvers using Python/C/C++.
Assist software developers in problems related to ship stability and strength analysis.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Minimum 2 year of experience in Naval architecture
Should be familiar with statutory and classification rules related to stability and strength analysis of ships.
Should have strong knowledge in any 3D CAD software
Bachelor's degree (B. Tech or BE) in Naval Architecture or related field.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Proficiency in 3D modelling software (Rhino or Blender or similar) is an added advantage
Master's degree (MTech or ME) in Naval Architecture is a plus.
Basic knowledge of Python is an added advantage.
