Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the design and development of new shipbuilding projects from concept to delivery. Prepare and review hull form designs, hydrostatics, stability calculations, and structural analysis reports. Collaborate with internal engineering teams, shipyards, and classification societies to ensure design compliance. Conduct weight estimation, marine systems integration, and optimization studies. Maintain accurate project documentation, drawings, and technical reports. Support project execution by participating in design reviews, inspections, and issue resolutions.

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or an equivalent discipline. 1.5 to 2 years of hands-on experience in new shipbuilding projects is mandatory. Prior exposure to Diving Support Vessels (DSV) and Hose Boats projects is highly preferred.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in design and analysis software such as: AutoCAD Rhino / Maxsurf / Orca3D ShipConstructor or similar tools Strong understanding of: Hull form design and optimization Hydrostatics and hydrodynamics Structural design and analysis Stability calculations and weight estimations Marine systems integration Knowledge of classification society rules (IRS, ABS, DNV, BV, LR). Familiarity with IMO regulations and SOLAS conventions.

Soft Skills:

Excellent communication and coordination abilities with cross-functional teams. Detail-oriented with strong documentation and report writing skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with tight project deadlines. Proactive, problem-solving mindset and a collaborative attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working directly with shipyards on new builds. Exposure to design or project involvement in DSVs and/or Hose Boats. Basic knowledge of 3D modelling and rendering tools is an added advantage.
