Naval Architect - Estimator cum Assistant Dock Master

Role Summary

The Naval Architect - Estimator cum Assistant Dock Master supports ship repair estimation, technical evaluation, and dock operations. This role involves assisting dock management activities while coordinating with technical, commercial, and yard teams to ensure smooth execution of ship repair projects.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare ship repair estimates based on drawings, specifications, and inspection reports. Carry out technical assessments related to hull, structure, and marine systems. Assist the Dock Master in managing dry dock and afloat repair operations. Coordinate with yard teams to plan docking, undocking, and vessel movements. Monitor repair progress and support cost control and schedule adherence. Liaise with technical, commercial, and operations teams for effective project execution. Ensure compliance with safety procedures, class requirements, and yard regulations. Maintain technical and estimation documentation and reports.

Experience & Qualifications

Experience:

Minimum

1 year

of relevant experience in

ship repair / estimation / naval architecture

Qualification:

B.Tech in Naval Architecture

. Exposure to shipyard operations or dock management is an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies

Knowledge of ship repair processes, hull structures, and estimation practices. Basic understanding of dock operations and vessel handling. Proficiency in MS Excel and technical documentation. Strong coordination, communication, and analytical skills. Ability to work in a dynamic shipyard environment.
