Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and optimize MySQL databases across development testing and production environments to ensure high performance availability and reliability Design implement and maintain scalable MySQL architectures including replication clustering and high availability solutions Perform advanced performance tuning query optimization and indexing to improve application and database efficiency Implement and manage robust backup and recovery strategies including point in time recovery and disaster recovery planning Monitor database health diagnose replication issues and resolve slow queries locking and performance bottlenecks Collaborate closely with development and engineering teams to refine schema design enhance queries and support application optimization Automate routine DBA tasks using shell scripting or Python to improve efficiency and reduce manual overhead Manage database security through user access controls auditing encryption and adherence to compliance standards Utilize monitoring tools such as Nagios Zabbix Prometheus or Grafana to track performance and proactively address issues Support deployments and migrations across on prem and cloud environments AWS RDS Azure MySQL GCP Maintain clear documentation for configurations processes best practices and troubleshooting guides Stay updated on the latest MySQL features industry best practices and emerging database technologies

Technical Requirements:

8 years of experience managing MySQL in production environments with strong command of MySQL architecture and InnoDB Expertise in performance tuning query optimization indexing and resolving slow queries locking and replication issues Hands on experience with high availability solutions including replication Master Slave GTID Group Replication and clustering Proficiency in backup recovery tools Percona XtraBackup mysqldump PITR and strong Linux Unix and scripting skills Shell Python Familiarity with cloud databases AWS RDS Aurora Azure MySQL GCP monitoring tools Nagios Zabbix Prometheus Grafana and database security best practices
