Role: MYP Art Teacher (Grades 6-10) - OWIS Whitefield

Key Responsibilities

Teach MYP Visual Arts for Grades 6-10 using student-centered, inquiry-driven methods. Plan and update units, lesson plans, and curriculum maps aligned with the IB MYP framework. Conduct theory and studio-based classes across multiple art mediums and techniques. Foster creativity, experimentation, conceptual thinking, and individual artistic growth. Assess student learning using varied assessment tools and provide constructive feedback. Organise student art exhibitions, showcases, and cross-disciplinary creative projects. Maintain and manage the art studio, materials, and equipment. Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary units and school-wide initiatives. Support student well-being and provide pastoral guidance when needed. Participate in professional development, departmental meetings, and school events.

Preferred Qualifications

Degree in Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Art Education, or related field. Prior IB or international school teaching experience, preferably in MYP. Strong artistic skills across varied media and strong understanding of art principles. Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom-management skills. Ability to differentiate instruction and build an inclusive, creative classroom. Good understanding of IB MYP philosophy, ATL skills, global contexts, and conceptual learning. Holistic, internationally-minded learning environment focused on kindness and global citizenship. Modern art and design facilities that support hands-on, creative learning. Strong culture of interdisciplinary collaboration within the MYP. Values-based community emphasizing diversity, inclusion, and empathy.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
