The Music Teacher is responsible for teaching music theory and practical skills, nurturing students' musical abilities, and fostering an appreciation for music. The teacher plans engaging lessons, conducts vocal and/or instrumental training, and prepares students for performances, assessments, and cultural events.
Key Responsibilities
Teach vocal and/or instrumental music to students as per curriculum guidelines
Introduce students to music theory, rhythm, notation, and melody
Train students in group singing, choir, and individual performances
Prepare students for school assemblies, concerts, competitions, and cultural programs
Identify and nurture musically talented students
Maintain discipline and create a positive, encouraging learning environment
Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback
Collaborate with class teachers and school management for events and programs
Ensure proper care and maintenance of musical instruments
Integrate music with other subjects and activities where appropriate
Qualifications
Degree or Diploma in Music (Vocal/Instrumental)
Certification in Indian Classical / Western Music (preferred)
B.Ed. or teacher training qualification (preferred for schools)
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of music theory and practice
Ability to teach children of different age groups
Proficiency in one or more instruments (keyboard, harmonium, guitar, tabla, violin, etc.)
Good communication and classroom management skills
Creativity and passion for teaching music
Patience and enthusiasm
Experience
1-3 years of teaching experience preferred
Freshers with strong musical background may also apply
