Music Teacher (CBSE School)

Job Summary

The Music Teacher is responsible for imparting music education in accordance with

CBSE guidelines

, promoting musical skills, creativity, discipline, and cultural appreciation among students. The teacher plans and delivers age-appropriate music instruction and supports the holistic development of learners through co-curricular activities.

Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic & Instructional Duties

Plan and conduct music classes as per the

CBSE curriculum and school timetable

Teach vocal and/or instrumental music suitable to different age groups Introduce students to basic music theory, rhythm, melody, and notation Prepare structured lesson plans with clear learning outcomes

Student Development

Encourage musical expression, confidence, and teamwork Identify and nurture musical talent among students Promote appreciation of Indian and global music traditions

Assessment & Evaluation

Assess students' musical skills through practical demonstrations and participation Maintain student performance records, attendance, and progress reports as per CBSE norms Provide constructive feedback to students for improvement

Co-curricular & Cultural Activities

Prepare students for

school assemblies, annual functions, celebrations, and competitions

Assist in organizing and managing cultural programs and CBSE-mandated activities Support inter-school and intra-school music events

Administrative & Professional Responsibilities

Ensure discipline, safety, and proper handling of musical instruments Coordinate with class teachers, activity coordinators, and school management Attend staff meetings, CBSE trainings, workshops, and school events Follow school policies and

CBSE regulations

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Music (recognized institution) B.Ed. or teacher training qualification (preferred as per CBSE norms) Proficiency in vocal and/or instrumental music
