Music Teacher - Drums / Percussion

Job Summary:

The Music Drums Teacher is responsible for teaching drums and percussion to students in alignment with CBSE guidelines, developing rhythm sense, coordination, musical discipline, and performance skills for school programs and co-scholastic activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and conduct drum and percussion classes appropriate to students' age and skill levels. Teach basic to advanced drumming techniques, rhythm patterns, tempo control, and coordination. Train students in various styles such as basic western drumming, school band rhythms, and fusion beats. Prepare students for school assemblies, cultural programs, competitions, and annual functions. Support CBSE art education, art integration, and co-scholastic activities. Identify and mentor students with musical talent for advanced training and performances. Ensure proper handling, maintenance, and safety of drum kits and percussion instruments. Maintain discipline and safe practice environments during sessions. Coordinate with vocal, instrumental, and dance teachers for group performances. Maintain records of student progress and participation. Participate in school meetings, rehearsals, workshops, and training programs. Take up additional cultural or co-curricular responsibilities as assigned by the school.

Qualifications & Experience:

Educational Qualification:

Degree / Diploma / Certification in Drums or Percussion Training from a recognized music academy (preferred)

Experience:

Minimum 2-5 years of teaching or performance experience preferred Experience in training school students is an added advantage

Skills & Competencies:

Strong command over drumming techniques and rhythm patterns. Ability to teach students of different age groups. Knowledge of tempo, timing, and ensemble coordination. Basic understanding of music theory and rhythm notation. Ability to work with school bands and cultural teams. Good communication, patience, and mentoring skills.
