AMD together we advance_ MTS FIRMWARE ENGINEER THE ROLE: We are looking for an MTS (Member of Technical Staff) Engineer with an obsession for firmware. As part of the role, this engineer will work closely with other firmware engineers, developers, and architects across various IPs in designing and implementing firmware that spans pre-silicon and post-silicon for all AMD SoCs. THE PERSON: You are passionate about firmware development with creative and effective problem-solving skills, a motivated, self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively in fast paced environments. You have excellent technical communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Get familiar with the AMD diagnostics framework and understand ACP/ Azalia/ Soundwire diagnostics. Audio I/O execution & coverage improvements for inflight and roadmap programs. Develop/ maintain the new/ current program tests and libraries. Undertake requests for any issues related to tests, SLT issues or debugging. Must have Skills: Proficient in programming in C/C++ languages. Strong understanding of Linux OS and its internals, memory and kernel. I/O execution/development experience on platforms/boards/SoCs. Scripting knowledge to automate test executions using bash scripts. Extensive debugging skills using GDB debugger and other debugging tools proprietary/non-proprietary if required. Proactiveness & positive attitude. Good to have Skills: Protocol experience preferably audio ones like I2S, Azalia, Soundwire. Post silicon validation cycle Preferable to have skills on usage of oscilloscope for looking into waveforms and debugging. Effective communication skills to be able to frame a problem statement and explain the issues or resolutions for debug. An effective team player to make sure we work together with laser focus on issues, execution, and positive attitude to learn in the process.
