eBay is seeking an experienced and dynamic

Senior Software Engineer (Full-Stack)

with

8-10 years of professional experience

to join our team. This role requires a strong technical leader with proven expertise in

architecting backend services

and delivering

scalable front-end applications

. You will play a key role in designing, building, and optimizing systems that support eBay's global platform, ensuring performance, reliability, and security at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Development:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable

backend services

and

front-end applications

that power eBay's next-generation systems.

System Design:

Drive architectural decisions, ensuring system scalability, security, and fault tolerance.

Full-Stack Ownership:

Work across the stack--developing RESTful APIs, microservices, databases, and intuitive front-end interfaces.

Collaboration:

Partner with product managers, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Best Practices:

Champion coding standards, secure development practices, and CI/CD automation.

Mentorship:

Guide junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Innovation:

Stay updated with industry trends, modern frameworks, and emerging technologies to continually improve eBay's engineering practices.

Qualifications

------------------

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).

Experience

8-10 years of professional software engineering experience

with demonstrated expertise in full-stack development.

Proven track record of

architecting backend services

and designing high-performance systems.

Technical Skills

Backend:

Expertise in

Node.js, Java

, or similar backend frameworks. Strong experience with

microservices, RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures

, and

OpenAPI Specification

for API design and documentation.

Frontend:

Proficiency with

React.js

(or similar modern frameworks) and strong

UI/UX sensibilities

.

Identity & Access Management:

Hands-on experience with

SCIM, OIDC, and OAuth2

for authentication, authorization, and identity federation.

Databases:

Deep knowledge of

SQL and NoSQL databases

.

Cloud & DevOps:

Familiarity with

AWS, GCP, Azure

or

Private cloud

as well as containerization (

Docker, Kubernetes

) and

CI/CD pipelines

.

Security & Performance:

Strong grasp of

secure coding practices, scalability, and performance optimization

.

Version Control:

Proficiency with

Git

and collaborative workflows.

Soft Skills

Strong communication and leadership skills.

Ability to work effectively in a

fast-paced, global environment

.

Problem-solver with a

hands-on, ownership-driven mindset

.
