Job Description

This role involves hands-on work in single-phase and three-phase electrical installations, motor wiring, protective device replacement, testing and preventive maintenance of panels, as well as plumbing tasks such as tap/hose replacements, gasket repairs and pipeline leak detection and rectification. You will also carry out high-level/outdoor tasks (e.g., canopy lighting, yard lights, minor canopy leak fixes) and make sure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards, including working at heights.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Works

Single-phase electrical installations and repairs in building systems. Capacitor connections and three-phase motor wiring and installation. Repair and replacement of MCBs, relays, contactors in electrical circuits and panels. Conduct earthing testing and lux level (illumination) testing to ensure compliance with standards. Preventive maintenance of electrical distribution panels using checklist-based mobile/app workflows. High-level/outdoor electrical work: maintenance of canopy lighting, yard lights, outdoor fixtures. Minor canopy structure leak rectification where it affects electrical installations.

Plumbing Works

Replacement of taps and hose-pipes across facility. Repairing/replacing gaskets and sealants on pipelines and plumbing fixtures. Detecting pipeline leakages (water/discharge) and performing rectification. Collaborate with maintenance team to support overall plumbing infrastructure upkeep.

General Requirements & Maintenance

Ability to safely work at heights (ladders, lifts, scaffolding) with proper fall-protection and safety compliance. Proficiency in using electrical testing tools (multimeters, insulation testers, lux meter, earth tester) and standard maintenance equipment. Basic troubleshooting skills for both electrical and plumbing systems; ability to perform preventive maintenance and identify issues before breakdowns. Maintain accurate records of work done, parts used, and schedule of preventive maintenance tasks. Collaborate with the wider maintenance team, respond to urgent repair requests, and assist in keeping the facility operational and safe.

Qualifications

Educational:

Diploma (or equivalent) in Electrical Technology / Electrician trade from an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) or a recognised institute.

Experience:

Proven experience in electrical and plumbing maintenance roles is desirable.

Technical Skills:

Strong electrical background: installations, motor wiring, panel work, testing & troubleshooting. Basic plumbing skills: fixture replacement, leak detection, pipeline repairs. Comfortable working at heights and outdoors. Familiar with safety regulations and best practices for electrical and plumbing maintenance.

Preferred (But Not Mandatory):

Certification in working at heights/fall protection. Familiarity with preventive maintenance software or mobile checklists. Previous experience in outdoor lighting/canopy maintenance or facility outdoor infrastructure. Basic knowledge of drawing reading/wiring diagrams.
