The Microbiologist (M.Sc. Microbiology) is responsible for conducting microbiological testing, research, and analysis to support product development, quality assurance, and public health initiatives. The role involves identifying, isolating, and studying microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites to ensure safety, compliance, and innovation in biological and industrial processes.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct microbiological analyses on samples from clinical, environmental, food, or pharmaceutical sources.
Perform microbial culture, staining, identification, and enumeration using standard laboratory techniques.
Maintain and operate laboratory instruments such as autoclaves, incubators, microscopes, PCR machines, and spectrophotometers.
Prepare, sterilize, and manage culture media and reagents.
Conduct sterility, endotoxin, and microbial limit testing as per regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, GMP, NABL).
Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare detailed reports or research papers.
Ensure adherence to biosafety, quality control, and good laboratory practices (GLP/GMP).
Assist in developing and validating new microbiological methods or assays.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in R&D, production, and quality departments.
Stay updated with current microbiological techniques and scientific developments.
