Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented MS SQL Database Administrator with 1-3 years of experience to manage, maintain, and optimize our SQL Server environments. The ideal candidate will ensure database performance, integrity, security, and availability, and work closely with development and infrastructure teams to support business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances (2012/2016/2019 and above). Monitor database performance and implement changes to improve efficiency and reliability. Perform regular database backups, restores, and disaster recovery operations. Manage database security including roles, permissions, and authentication. Write and optimize T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, triggers, and views. Perform database tuning and optimization using Performance Monitor and SQL Profiler. Implement and monitor maintenance plans, index management, and statistics updates. Assist in database design, development, and capacity planning. Troubleshoot and resolve database issues such as deadlocks, blocking, and connection problems. Collaborate with developers and system administrators to support data-driven applications.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 1-3 years of hands-on experience with MS SQL Server administration. Proficiency in T-SQL, query optimization, and performance tuning. Strong understanding of database backups, restores, recovery models, and replication. Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and other monitoring tools. Good knowledge of database security, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR) options. Familiarity with Windows Server environments. Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS) is a plus. Certification in Microsoft SQL Server (e.g., MCSA or equivalent) is an advantage. Experience with PowerShell scripting or automation tools is a plus.
