Job Description

An MRD (Medical Records Department) Executive's primary responsibility is to manage and maintain accurate patient medical records, ensuring they are organized, complete, and readily accessible. This role involves tasks like initiating medical records, gathering patient information, ensuring data integrity, and adhering to hospital procedures for record management and confidentiality. They also collaborate with healthcare professionals and departments, address record retrieval requests, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the medical records system. Record Creation and Maintenance:

Initiating medical records, collecting patient information, and ensuring the completeness and accuracy of all records.

Data Management:

Maintaining both paper-based and electronic medical records systems, ensuring data integrity and security.

Record Retrieval and Tracking:

Handling requests for medical records, tracking chart locations, and managing the retrieval process while adhering to hospital policies.

Quality Assurance:

Following established procedures to ensure the quality and accuracy of medical records and addressing any discrepancies or incompleteness.

Confidentiality and Privacy:

Safeguarding patient confidentiality and adhering to all relevant privacy regulations.

Collaboration:

Working with healthcare providers, administration, and other departments to ensure smooth information flow and address any medical record-related issues.

Reporting:

Generating reports on medical records activities and statistics as needed by hospital administration.
Additional Responsibilities:

Staying Updated:

Keeping abreast of advancements in health information technology and participating in the implementation of electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Training:

Providing training to new staff on medical record procedures and relevant software applications.

Documentation:

Documenting all actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs to maintain continuity of operations.

Problem Solving:

Resource Provision:

Acting as a resource for all facility departments regarding medical records.

Space Management:
