Responsible for assembly, fitting, maintenance, and repair of injection moulds, press tools, and dies as per design specifications. The role requires hands-on experience in mould assembly, polishing, tryout, troubleshooting, and ensuring dimensional accuracy and product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform
assembly and fitting
of new injection moulds, press tools, and dies.
Interpret 2D drawings and 3D models
to execute precise assembly and fitting.
Handle
mould components
-- cavities, cores, sliders, ejectors, and cooling lines.
Conduct
trials and adjustments
of moulds and dies to ensure proper functioning.
Carry out
maintenance, modification, and repair
of existing moulds and dies.
Operate
conventional machines
(lathe, milling, grinding, drilling, polishing) when required.
Work closely with the design and machining teams to resolve technical issues.
Maintain cleanliness, safety, and quality standards in the tool room.
Document work progress, modifications, and maintenance logs.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of
mould and die design, assembly, and fitting principles
.
Proficiency in
tool room measuring instruments
(Vernier, micrometer, height gauge, etc.).
Good knowledge of
material hardness, heat treatment, and surface finishing
.
Problem-solving ability for tool breakdowns and die performance issues.
Ability to work independently and within a team under tight deadlines.
Preferred:
Experience with
injection moulds for plastic components
or
die casting dies
.
Basic understanding of
CAD/CAM drawings
and
CNC machining processes
.
Willingness to work in shifts if required.
