Job Description

The Mother Teacher plays a crucial role in creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children. They are responsible for fostering the holistic development of students through engaging activities, personalized attention, and a strong emphasis on social-emotional growth. The Mother Teacher acts as a primary caregiver and educator, building a strong foundation for future academic success.

Responsibilities:

1. Classroom Management and Instruction:

Create a warm, welcoming, and safe learning environment that encourages curiosity and exploration. Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum based on established guidelines and educational philosophies (e.g., Montessori, Play-based learning). Deliver engaging and interactive lessons in areas such as language development, literacy, numeracy, art, music, and physical education. Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to cater to diverse learning styles. Observe and assess individual student progress, providing feedback to parents and school administration. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessments, and developmental milestones. Manage classroom behavior effectively, promoting positive social interactions and conflict resolution skills. Prepare and organize classroom materials and resources. Supervise students during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.

2. Child Development and Care:

Provide personalized attention and care to each child, addressing their individual needs and concerns. Foster the development of social-emotional skills, including empathy, cooperation, and self-regulation. Assist children with daily routines, such as toileting, handwashing, and meal times. Promote healthy habits and hygiene practices. Recognize and address signs of distress or developmental delays, communicating with parents and school administration as needed. Build strong, positive relationships with each child, creating a sense of security and belonging.

3. Parent Communication and Collaboration:

Maintain regular communication with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones. Conduct parent-teacher conferences and provide feedback on student performance. Collaborate with parents to address any concerns or challenges related to their child's learning or behavior. Organize and participate in school events and activities, fostering a strong school-parent community. Inform parents of school policies and procedures.

4. Professional Development and Collaboration:

Attend professional development workshops and training sessions to enhance teaching skills and knowledge. Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of school-wide initiatives. Stay updated on current research and best practices in early childhood education. Adhere to school policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field (preferred). Diploma or certification in Early Childhood Education (required). Proven experience working with young children in a classroom or childcare setting. Strong understanding of child development and early childhood education principles.
