: MONGO DB Administrator (Platform Operations)

Role Overview:

As a System DBA in our Platform Operations group, you will be responsible for the health, scalability, and lifecycle management of our database infrastructure. You will bridge the gap between hardware procurement and database availability, ensuring that our DBaaS platform remains compliant, resilient, and ready to meet client demand.

Key ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure & Lifecycle Management

Manage

Infrastructure Capacity

to ensure the platform scales ahead of business growth. Facilitate the

procurement

of database services infrastructure. Perform software lifecycle tasks: installing new versions, applying vendor maintenance fixes, and managing third-party drivers.

Onboarding & Client Consultation

Act as a technical consultant for internal clients migrating to the

DBaaS platform

. Review provisioning requests and execute standardized builds to ensure environment consistency.

Incident & Event Management

Monitor the availability and reliability of both the

database and the underlying server infrastructure

. Respond to system-generated alerts and manage the end-to-end resolution of incidents and problems. Collaborate with

Application DBAs

to troubleshoot complex issues affecting specific workloads.

Availability & Compliance

Maintain rigorous recoverability standards through managed

Backups and Database Replication

. Ensure all database infrastructure adheres to

GIS (Global Information Security) standards

. Drive compliance initiatives to mitigate risk across the database estate.

Strategic Collaboration

Partner with

Product Engineering

teams to provide feedback on platform performance and influence the roadmap for future database features.

Required Skills & Qualifications

System-Level Expertise:

Deep understanding of database engine internals and the underlying server/OS infrastructure.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC):

Experience with automated provisioning and standardized builds.

Operational Resilience:

Proven track record in managing high-availability environments and complex recovery scenarios.

Communication:

Maintain high standards of written and spoken communication in all client-facing interactions to support effective engagement and delivery excellence.

Preferred Experience

Experience working within a large-scale financial institution (Bank of America environment or similar). Knowledge of Global Information Security (GIS) compliance frameworks.
