Position Description:

Key Responsibilities:



Design and develop complex applications on AS400/Mainframe systems



Lead technical implementation of business-critical AS400 solutions



Architect database solutions and optimize data access



Establish coding standards and best practices for AS400 development



Mentor junior and intermediate developers on AS400 technologies



Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues



Manage system upgrades and migration projects



Collaborate with business stakeholders to refine requirements



Provide technical leadership for AS400-related projects

Requirements:



Experience working with AS400 application screens (green screens) and backend coding



Expert-level knowledge of RPG (including free-form RPGLE), CL, DB2, and other AS400/Mainframe technologies



Proven experience with IBMi operating system and administration



Advanced SQL and database optimization skills



Strong knowledge of DB2, with hands-on experience using embedded SQL



Proficiency in handling files



Practical experience in invoking and consuming Web APIs, including parsing JSON payloads, etc.



Experience with performance tuning and system optimization



Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities



Experience leading technical projects or development teams



Experience with web services, APIs, and integration patterns



Experience with system integration between legacy and modern platforms



Experience working within a SCRUM team

Nice to Have Skills:

Ryder - AS400 Mainframe Developer

Internal



Experience with logical partitions (LPARs)



Familiarity with Azure DevOps (ADO) for managing the SCRUM process



Knowledge of .NET development



Experience with modernization of legacy applications



Experience with RDi (Rational Developer for i)



Knowledge of modern DevOps practices as they apply to legacy systems
