Job Description

A molding operator sets up, operates, and maintains molding machines to produce plastic or metal parts according to specifications, performing quality checks, basic maintenance, and record-keeping. Key responsibilities include monitoring machine operations, troubleshooting issues, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring products meet quality standards while adhering to safety protocols. The role requires physical stamina for standing and moving around the machine, as well as attention to detail for monitoring and quality control.
Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation:

Operate various molding machines (injection molding, blow molding, etc.) to produce components.

Setup & Calibration:

Set up machines with appropriate tools, molds, and materials according to blueprints or production schedules.

Monitoring & Adjustments:

Monitor machine parameters and output, making necessary adjustments to ensure proper function and quality.

Quality Control:

Perform regular quality checks on finished parts to ensure they meet predefined specifications and standards.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

Conduct routine maintenance, clean equipment, and troubleshoot any malfunctions to minimize downtime.

Record Keeping:

Maintain detailed production records, including quantities, cycle times, and scrap rates.

Safety & Housekeeping:

Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area to prevent accidents and contamination.

Collaboration:

Work with other team members, supervisors, and technicians to meet production goals and address issues.
Key Skills & Requirements

Technical Skills:

Ability to operate and troubleshoot molding machines and read blueprints.

Quality Awareness:

Strong attention to detail to conduct quality checks and identify defects.

Physical Fitness:

Stamina to stand and walk for extended periods and the ability to lift moderate weights.

Communication:

Good communication skills to report issues and collaborate with team members.
