Plastic mold manufacturing engineering involves designing and creating molds from steel or aluminum to mass-produce custom plastic parts through injection molding. This process uses high pressure to inject melted plastic into the mold cavity, where it cools and solidifies before being ejected as a finished component. The Manufacturing Process * Design & Tooling: Engineers design the mold, which consists of a core and a cavity, using CAD software. CNC machines then carve the mold from high-strength aluminum or steel.

  • Material Preparation: Raw plastic granules are fed into a hopper and then into a machine's barrel.
  • Melting & Injection: The plastic is melted by heat and friction and then injected under high pressure into the closed mold.
