How You Will Contribute:

Blue Planet , the software division of Ciena, provides best-in-class intelligent automation software and niche professional services to help clients modernize their IT and network operations. Driven by policy and AI-based insights, Blue Planet delivers the closed-loop automation tools needed to align IT and networking processes\xe2\x80\x94critical to facilitating digital transformation and an adaptive network.

• Engage with various engineering teams, product line managers and product owners to transform concepts and high-level requirements into optimized test coverage and enhanced customer experience.
• Automate and maintain all manually devised and executed test cases using automation best practices and maintain CI/CD pipeline framework
• Drive (plan and implement) lab or simulation environment setup activities to fully address proposed testing scenarios and coordinate equipment acquisition/sharing agreements with the various teams concerned.
• Analyze test results and prepare test reports.
• Investigate software defects and highlight critical issues that can have potential customer impact and consult with software development engineers in finding resolution or to address problems related to specifications and/or test plans/procedures.

Skills Required:

Experience working with and testing Network components in any of the following domains:

• Layer-0/1 DWDM, OTN
• Layer-2 MPLS/carrier grade switches
• Layer-3 Routers
• Solid understanding of databases like Oracle, MySQL, Cassandra, Neo4j
• Understanding of OAM&P based products and their project lifecycle, including Service Layer Management, Inventory Management and Connection Management.
• Automated test development experience using Python, JavaScript, Postman, Selenium, Cucumber, Protractor and webdriverIO framework.
• Automation execution experience in a DevOps environment such as Gitlab, Bitbucket, Teamcity
• Experience working with Microservice Based Architecture: Docker, Containers
• Understanding of network management software solutions in a Unix/Linux/VM/Cloud based environment.
• Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, MPLS)
• Experience working with Rest APIs based on Yang/Netconf model.
• 10+ years of experience in Telecom Domain and UI/RestAPI automation.

Educational Requirements

A Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent is highly desired.
