Modular Interior Designer

Salary:

?35,000 - ?45,000 per month (depending on experience and skills)

Job Purpose:

To design, plan, and execute modular furniture/interior solutions (kitchens, wardrobes, cabinets, etc.), ensuring functional, aesthetic, feasible designs that meet the client's requirements, budget, and site constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

Meet clients to understand their requirements, budget, style preferences, and space constraints. Prepare floor plans, layout drawings, elevations, sections showing modular units. Produce 2D and 3D design visuals/renderings / presentations for clients. Select appropriate modular components, hardware & accessories (like hinges, channels, fittings etc.), finishes, materials, colours. Generate quotations and cost estimates; adjust designs to meet cost targets. Coordinate with vendors/suppliers for material sourcing. Liaise with production/fabrication teams: provide drawings, specifications, ensure feasibility for manufacturing. Site measurements and supervision; ensure installation as per design; follow up on quality. Revise designs based on feedback; ensure client satisfaction. Stay updated on modular design trends, hardware brands (e.g. Hafele, Blum etc.), materials, emerging design tools.
Qualifications & Skills:

Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Interior Design / Architecture / related field (or equivalent experience). Experience: ~1-3 years preferred (or more depending on complexity). Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD), 3D modelling tools (SketchUp / 3ds Max / similar). Good rendering / presentation skills. Strong understanding of joinery / modular systems / hardware & fittings. Good sketching, layout, spatial planning abilities. Eye for detail, aesthetics, colour & finishes. Good client-facing skills: communication, listening, adapting feedback. Basic knowledge of site measurement, installation processes, safety norms.

Creative thinker. Good organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects. Time management; meeting deadlines. Problem-solving mindset (e.g. dealing with unforeseen site constraints, adjustments). Team player; able to coordinate with production, suppliers, installers.
Working Conditions & Benefits:

5 or 6 days a week, generally day shift. Travel to client sites and measurement visits as needed. Opportunity for performance bonus (if applicable). Possible training on new software/hardware. Exposure to varied projects in modular furniture/interiors.
