Mobile Android Lead

Purpose and Overview

The responsibility of the Mobile Android Lead is to provide technology solutions for projects and daily support. The developer ensures adherence to current standards and maintains a commitment to high quality development and implementations. This individual will provide technology expertise and guidance, remaining current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.

**Mobile initiatives (enhancements or project): (not all inclusive)
**The mobile developer will be required to design, develop, test, document, deploy, support and sustain the mobile apps\xe2\x80\x94Android Mobile- interface and libraries.
**Collaborate with UX for product definition and use cases
**Assist with defining technical and functional user stories
**Customer Interaction skills: (not all inclusive)
**Ability to explain technical aspects of a solution to a non-technical audience
**Prepare and communicate status, issues, and opportunities to the business.
**Builds and maintains strong partnership with internal and external customers.

Qualifications

**Strong in depth knowledge in Android SDK, device APIs, Java
**Expertise in integrating with various back end services
**Expertise in developing custom widgets with flexibility and reusability in mind
**Expertise in Publishing mobile applications to Google app stores
**Expertise in XHTML/HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML, JSTL, Ajax & JQuery, JSON
**Expertise with source control (SVN, Git)
**Good knowledge of HTML5/CSS 3
**Strong understanding of REST &SOAP
**Expertise in build tools like Gradle/ Maven
**Expertise in app memory management, multithreading, networking & Security
**Strong mobile UI design and implementation experience, including prototyping
**Strong application architectural experience
**Estimation and code review of User stories
**Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration is a plus
**Test Driven Development (TDD) is a plus
**Experience and passion to work in a fast paced Agile environment, delivering functional features in small time durations

Level of experience

**Minimum 7+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in native mobile application development
**Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education
**Collaborate with internal and external teams - Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, and QA to conceptualize, build, test, and realize new features
**Ability to deliver simultaneous projects on time
**Be able to work collaboratively with local and remote team members
**Experience with unit testing, integration testing and/or UI automation
**Experience in continuous integration concepts and tools is a plus
**Experience in Git flow, Git forking and branching
**Should be able to identify reusable component against project based components
**Monitoring incident for project and triage incidents and assign to appropriate team members
**Follow up on incidents and close incidents
**Experience in code coverage concepts and tools is a plus
**Should release builds based on QA Cycles and Deployment cycles
**Deploy the release builds to the appropriate channels ( Airwatch / Store)
**Work with project manager in cut over plan and project closure
**Create quick proof of concepts and prototype as needed
**Partner with product managers and come up with Product roadmaps and release cycles
