What's the role?:

We are looking for a

AI/ML Engineer II

to join our

Technology Innovation Lab

, a cross-disciplinary team driving advanced AI and intelligent automation across HERE. In this role, you will design and implement state-of-the-art machine learning systems with a focus on

Agentic AI

,

Generative AI

, and

foundational ML techniques

to power next-gen applications.
You will collaborate closely with technical leads, researchers, and engineers to build prototypes that solve real-world spatial, operational, and knowledge-driven challenges using intelligent agents and large-scale AI models.Contribute to the development of AI-first systems using

Large Language Models (LLMs)

,

Classical ML algorithms

(e.g., regression, clustering, XGBoost), and

deep learning architectures

. Support the design and development of

Agentic AI solutions

, working alongside senior engineers using frameworks such as

LangGraph, CrewAI

, and

AutoGen

, with exposure to task decomposition, tool use, and memory-based agents. Build components of

Generative AI applications

for tasks such as

text generation, summarization, code generation

, and

image generation

using pre-trained models. Implement and test deep learning models such as

CNNs, RNNs (LSTM, GRU), Transformers

, and

GANs

for use cases in

NLP

,

Computer Vision

, or

multi-modal learning

. Translate research insights into code by collaborating with technical leads and researchers to prototype innovative AI workflows. Write well-structured, clean, and efficient code in

Python

, and contribute to model training and deployment workflows using

PyTorch, TensorFlow

, or related tools. Work with big data tools like

Spark

,

PySpark

, or distributed systems to process large-scale datasets for ML training or inference. Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and testing to ensure code quality and reproducibility. Stay up to date with recent developments in LLMs, agentic systems, and generative AI technologies through reading, experimentation, and internal knowledge sharing.

Who are you?:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in

Computer Science, AI/ML, Mathematics

, or a related quantitative field. + 1+ years of relevant experience in AI/ML roles (or strong internship/project experience for early-stage professionals).
Strong foundation in

machine learning and deep learning

, including familiarity with classical models (e.g., regression, SVM, decision trees) and DL architectures (CNN, RNN, Transformers). Exposure to

LLMs

(e.g., GPT, Claude, LLaMA) and interest in building

prompt-based

or

agentic systems

. Basic experience with frameworks such as

LangGraph

,

CrewAI

, or custom agent frameworks is a plus. Solid programming skills in

Python

, with working knowledge of

C++ or Java

as a bonus. Hands-on experience with

PyTorch

TensorFlow

scikit-learn

for model development. Familiarity with tools like

for handling large datasets. A passion for exploring
