Job Summary:

The Mining Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing mining operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective extraction of minerals. The role involves technical evaluations, feasibility studies, mine design, and coordination with cross-functional teams to achieve production targets while complying with environmental and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct geological and geotechnical studies to determine mining potential. Design open-pit or underground mine layouts, drilling, blasting, and excavation plans. Prepare feasibility studies, cost estimates, and mine development strategies. Monitor mine production to ensure adherence to schedules and targets. Supervise drilling, blasting, hauling, and other mining operations. Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards. Optimize mining processes for maximum productivity and cost efficiency. Coordinate with geologists, surveyors, metallurgists, and equipment teams. Implement sustainable mining practices and waste management systems. Maintain accurate records, reports, and mine plans using specialized software.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong knowledge of mining methods, geology, and mine design. Proficiency in mining software (e.g., Surpac, Datamine, AutoCAD, MineScape). Analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent communication and reporting skills. Knowledge of safety standards, regulatory compliance, and environmental management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering (Master's preferred). Professional certifications (if applicable, e.g., DGMS Competency Certificate in India). 1-2 years of relevant experience (entry-level roles may require internships or training experience).

Work Environment:

Work may involve remote mining sites, both open-pit and underground. Physical stamina and ability to work in challenging environments. Travel and extended site presence may be required.
