We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mining Engineer to plan, design, and manage mining operations for the efficient and safe extraction of minerals and resources. The ideal candidate will ensure adherence to environmental, safety, and operational standards while optimizing mining processes and resource utilization.
Key Responsibilities
:
Mine Design and Planning
:
Develop detailed mine designs, layouts, and operational plans for open-pit or underground mining projects.
Plan the extraction process, ensuring resource optimization and minimal environmental impact.
Conduct feasibility studies to assess the economic viability of mining operations.
Operations Management
:
Oversee day-to-day mining operations, ensuring production targets are met.
Monitor and improve drilling, blasting, and excavation processes.
Ensure the proper functioning of mining equipment and coordinate with maintenance teams.
Safety and Compliance
:
Implement and enforce safety standards to ensure a hazard-free work environment.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, mining laws, and industry standards.
Conduct regular risk assessments and implement accident prevention measures.
Resource Evaluation
:
Perform geological assessments to estimate the quantity and quality of mineral deposits.
Collaborate with geologists to develop resource models and extraction strategies.
Project Management
:
Manage mining projects from inception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including geologists, surveyors, and equipment operators.
Technology Integration
:
Implement modern technologies like automation, drone surveying, and 3D modeling to improve operational efficiency.
Use mining software (e.g., Surpac, Datamine, or MineSight) for planning and resource modeling.
Environmental Sustainability
:
Design and implement strategies to minimize the environmental impact of mining operations.
Ensure proper waste management, land reclamation, and rehabilitation of mining sites.
Reporting and Documentation
:
Prepare reports on mining operations, production metrics, and project progress.
Maintain detailed documentation of site activities, including safety inspections and regulatory compliance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
:
Educational Background
:
Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., in mine safety or environmental management) are an advantage.
Technical Skills
:
Proficiency in mining software like Surpac, Datamine, MineSight, or AutoCAD.
Strong knowledge of drilling, blasting, and excavation techniques.
Familiarity with GPS-based surveying and 3D modeling tools.
Soft Skills
:
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Effective communication and reporting skills.
Experience
:
Entry-level roles: 1-3 years of experience.
Mid- to senior-level roles: 4-10+ years of experience, preferably in mining operations.
Work Environment

Location
: Mining sites (open-pit or underground), often in remote areas.
Conditions

Exposure to loud machinery, dust, and challenging weather conditions.
Requires physical fitness and the ability to work in confined spaces.
May involve rotational shifts and extended periods on-site.
Preferred Certifications
:
First Class or Second Class Mine Manager's Certificate (India-specific).
Safety certifications like OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent.
