Welding and fabrication:

Operate MIG welding equipment to join, assemble, and repair metal components with precision.

Material preparation:

Clean metal surfaces and select the correct filler metals, wire electrodes, and shielding gas for each job.

Equipment setup:

Adjust settings on the welding machine, such as amperage, voltage, and wire feed speed, for the specific material and thickness.

Quality control:

Inspect finished welds for defects and ensure they meet quality, strength, and safety standards.

Maintenance:

Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and keep the work area clean and organized.
Essential skills and qualifications

Proficiency in MIG welding techniques and other welding processes like TIG or stick. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Strong understanding of safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy materials and work in various positions. Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and fix equipment problems. Good communication skills for collaborating with team members and supervisors.
