ViralChilly is a performance-driven digital agency working with clients across the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. We build conversion-focused Shopify stores alongside SEO, PPC, and growth marketing. We're looking for a Mid-Level Shopify Developer who can independently create Shopify websites from scratch and take ownership from development to launch.

Role Overview

As a Shopify Developer at ViralChilly, you will be responsible for building, customizing, and launching Shopify stores end-to-end. This role is not about installing a theme and changing colors -- you'll be working on custom sections, templates, performance optimization, and real-world ecommerce requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Build Shopify stores from scratch or heavily customize existing themes Convert Figma designs or reference websites into pixel-perfect Shopify builds Develop custom Shopify sections, templates, and snippets using Liquid Ensure mobile-first, responsive, and fast-loading storefronts Optimize Shopify sites for SEO readiness and Core Web Vitals Integrate essential apps (reviews, subscriptions, upsells, tracking) cleanly Set up and verify GA4, Meta Pixel, GTM, and e-commerce tracking Debug issues independently and deploy fixes confidently Coordinate with designers, SEO, and PPC teams Deliver clean handoffs with documentation post-launch

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

2-4 years of hands-on Shopify development experience Strong knowledge of Shopify Liquid, theme architecture, and sections Solid skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript Experience creating reusable, scalable Shopify components Understanding of Shopify checkout limitations and workarounds Familiarity with the Shopify app ecosystem and best practices

Performance & SEO

Experience optimizing Shopify sites for speed and performance Understanding of Shopify SEO fundamentals (URLs, meta tags, structure) Ability to build SEO-friendly page layouts

Behavioral & Cultural Fit

Takes full ownership of projects from start to go-live Strong problem-solving mindset -- figures things out independently Coachable and open to feedback from designers and marketers Communicates clearly and professionally Disciplined with timelines and code quality Calm under pressure and responsive during launches

What Will Set You Apart

Experience building Shopify stores for real businesses (not just demos) Comfort working with performance metrics and CRO principles Ability to explain technical decisions in simple language Clean, readable, well-structured theme files
