Job Description

A middle school teacher plays a crucial role in the academic and social development of students typically in grades 3-7. Their roles and responsibilities include:

Instructional Responsibilities

Lesson Planning and Delivery

: Create and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.

Subject Matter Expertise

: Teach specific subjects such as math, science, English, or social studies.

Assessment and Evaluation

: Design tests, quizzes, and projects to evaluate student progress.

Classroom Management

: Maintain an organized and disciplined classroom environment.

Differentiated Instruction

: Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs, including for students with IEPs or 504 plans.

Developmental and Emotional Support

Student Mentorship

: Provide guidance and support to help students through emotional and social changes.

Behavior Monitoring

: Address behavioral issues and work with counselors or parents as needed.

Fostering Life Skills

: Help students develop study habits, time management, and interpersonal skills.

Communication and Collaboration

Parent-Teacher Communication

: Maintain regular contact with parents about student progress and concerns.

Collaboration with Staff

Professional Development

Administrative Duties
