Job Description

Microsoft Copilot Studio AI Coach -

A Microsoft Copilot AI Coach focuses on driving adoption, skills, and responsible use of Copilot and generative AI, rather than building the underlying technology. The role blends AI literacy, training, change management, and light solution guidance to help users embed Copilot into daily work.

Role Overview

The Microsoft Copilot AI Coach is responsible for helping employees understand, adopt, and get measurable value from Microsoft Copilot and related AI tools across the organisation.

This role acts as a bridge between technology and the business, coaching users on effective prompting, responsible AI usage, and integrating Copilot into everyday workflows and processes.

Key Responsibilities

Educate employees on what Copilot and generative AI can and cannot do, using practical, business-relevant examples. Design and deliver training sessions, workshops, and office hours on Copilot features, prompt writing, and day-to-day use cases across Microsoft 365 and line-of-business apps. Coach individuals and teams on embedding Copilot into their roles, helping them redesign tasks and processes to leverage AI effectively. Partner with product owners, solution architects, and platform teams to identify, prioritise, and refine Copilot use cases and adoption campaigns. Create engaging enablement materials such as playbooks, quick-reference guides, FAQs, short videos, and internal how-to documentation. Collect, analyse, and share user feedback to improve Copilot experiences, training content, and adoption strategies. Promote responsible AI usage, reinforcing guidelines, guardrails, and organisational policies around data security, privacy, and ethical use. Track adoption metrics (usage, satisfaction, time saved, success stories) and report outcomes and insights to stakeholders. Support AI champions, super users, and community-of-practice members through coaching, mentoring, and content sharing. Stay current on new Copilot capabilities and generative AI trends and translate them into simple guidance and updated training assets.

Essential Skills & Experience

AI & Microsoft Ecosystem

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Copilot across Microsoft 365 (e.g., Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel), with awareness of Copilot in Power Platform and Dynamics 365. Practical experience using Copilot and/or other generative AI tools to improve productivity, content creation, analysis, and collaboration. Understanding of foundational AI and generative AI concepts (LLMs, prompting, limitations, risks) and ability to explain them in non-technical language.

Coaching, Training & Communication

Strong facilitation skills, with experience running workshops, live demos, and training sessions for mixed skill levels. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of turning complex AI concepts into simple, actionable guidance. Experience coaching or mentoring users one-on-one and in small groups, adapting style to different learning preferences, seniority levels, and roles.

Change Management & Adoption

Knowledge of change management concepts and methodologies (e.g., ADKAR or similar) applied to technology and AI adoption. Experience designing adoption campaigns, communication plans, and engagement activities that build awareness, interest, and confidence. Ability to gather feedback, identify adoption blockers, and work with stakeholders to address concerns, resistance, and policy questions.

Core Competencies

High empathy and strong listening skills, with a genuine interest in how people work and where AI can meaningfully help. Service-oriented mindset focused on user outcomes, productivity gains, quality, and confidence with AI tools. Structured, organised approach to managing multiple training initiatives, stakeholders, and communication channels. Curiosity and continuous learning mindset around AI advancements, Microsoft roadmaps, and digital productivity best practices.

Desired Skills & Experience

Experience working with Power Platform, Copilot Studio, or Dynamics 365 as a business user, product owner, or citizen developer. Background in learning & development, enablement, digital workplace, productivity coaching, or similar user-facing roles. Familiarity with analytics and dashboards (e.g., Power BI or adoption reports) to track Copilot usage, engagement, and impact over time. Prior experience supporting an AI / Copilot / Digital Workplace Centre of Excellence or champions network. Exposure to governance and compliance topics in AI, including responsible AI frameworks, content filtering, and data classification.

Typical Background

3+ years in roles such as digital adoption lead, change manager, trainer, productivity consultant, business analyst, or similar business-facing roles. Experience in a Microsoft 365-centric environment with significant responsibility for user engagement, enablement, or change management. * Relevant certifications or training (e.g., Microsoft 365, AI fundamentals, change management, learning design) are advantageous but not mandatory.
