The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities. Responsibilities: Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, model development, and establish and implement new or revised applications systems and programs to meet specific business needs or user areas Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement Recommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision. Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy. Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency. Qualifications: 8-10 years of relevant experience Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications Experience in managing and implementing successful projects Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements Education: Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed. Job Background/Context: The position is based in India and is required to focus on delivery of the work, ensuring a robust design Citi is looking to hire senior developer having experience in the latest open-source tech stack to build robust, clean back-end APIs and front-end interfaces. You will be expected to apply user-centred design processes to create high quality user experiences, and reusable patterns and assets for various products. Designing and maintaining common components Evaluating multiple concepts for projects and suggesting ideas are worth pursuing Fulfilling several requests simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines The position requires analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex material, technical or business or otherwise, from multiple sources Key Responsibilities: Act as a visionary and strategist for solution/application/system across the platform. Provide expertise to identify and translate system requirement into software design artifacts. Good in programming and solving problems Drive experiments to assess new solutions /application paths. Lead/participate formation of architecture roadmap for the regulatory space in Citi. To work proactively & independently to address project requirements, and articulate issues/challenges at appropriate time to address project delivery risks. Follow industry wide best practices to minimize technical debt of software deliverables. Interface and coordinate tasks with internal and external technical resources. Collaborate to provide estimates, develop overall implementation solutions/application plan, and serve as a lead as required, to implement the installation, customization and integration efforts Skills Required : Experience with designing /architecting scalable software that processes, persists and distributes data via relational and non-relational technologies: Experience in design and development of medium to large-scale applications using open-source tech stack - Java 8, Spring boot, Microservices, Akka, Scala, ELK, Gradle/Maven, JMS, Redis, Gemfire. Experience with databases: Oracle or PostgreSQL or No SQL databases. Experience in writing unit test and integration test using standard frameworks, ensuring minimized technical debt. Experience in building CI CD pipeline and single click deployment - Teamcity, Lightspeed, uDeploy, bitbucket. Experience with Advanced gRPC/REST or similar. Experience in UNIX environment, UNIX scripts etc. will be added advantage. Ability to work independently and handle multiple concurrent initiative. Functional and Technical Specs documentation.
