JOB DESCRIPTION - TECHNICIAN (1-3 Years Experience)

Key Responsibilities:

Perform microbiological tests on various specimens, including blood, urine, tissue, and other bodily fluids using aseptic techniques. Hands-on experience with

Elisa technique

and

COVID-19 testing protocols

(RT-PCR/antigen testing preferred). Prepare and maintain laboratory reagents, media, and cultures required for diagnostic and research purposes. Conduct routine

quality control

procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as

microscopes, centrifuges, incubators, and manual/automated analyzers

. Interpret, record, and report test results accurately and promptly, adhering to

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

and quality assurance protocols. Collaborate with healthcare professionals and lab staff to ensure correct sample collection, handling, and transportation. Maintain detailed and accurate records, including test results, equipment logs, and inventory tracking. Follow strict

safety protocols

and maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment. Stay updated with developments in microbiology and diagnostic technology through continuous learning and professional development. Assist in developing and validating new laboratory methods and techniques.

Qualifications:

1-3 years

of experience as a

Microbiology Technician

in a clinical, diagnostic, or hospital lab setting (manual system exposure preferred). Strong foundational knowledge of microbiology principles and methodologies. Proficient in microbiological testing, including

bacterial identification, antimicrobial susceptibility

, and

molecular diagnostics

. Familiarity with

COVID testing techniques

such as RT-PCR and Rapid Antigen. Comfortable using and maintaining standard lab instruments and tools. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with high attention to detail. Capable of following protocols and maintaining accuracy under pressure. Effective verbal and written communication skills for documentation and coordination. Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team-based environment. Knowledge of

Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)

and strict adherence to

lab safety guidelines
