Microbiologist/ Technologist NeuGen Biologicals seeks a self-driven, goal-oriented personal. The ideal candidate will work from Coimbatore. NeuGen is a microbial and green chemistry-based company that combines novel bioaugmentation products for agriculture, farming, and environmental cleaning applications. Reports to Technical Service Manager. Summary/Purpose of Position: As a fermentation technologist, you will join a team working on microbial fermentation projects. We are looking to expand our fermentation activities with a strong candidate that will be able to operate fermenters from start to end, handle input, output and waste materials, and collect samples. The candidate will have strong communication skills, a demonstrated ability to learn complex projects, and resilience in their problem-solving abilities. Job Responsibilities/Duties: Roles and responsibilities are included but not limited to: ? Help develop, write and edit documents such as technical bulletins, proposals, reports and training materials. ? Work with R&D to develop improved support service offerings, field testing tools and data for clients. ? Basic spirit on use of inputs and initiatives for strengthening fermentation projects
- Prepare medium, solutions, and samples for bioprocessing, fermentation, and QC analysis.
- Perform microbiology quality control testing such as pH, optical density, microscopic cell count, and plating, with the ability to present data to the team and keep neat experiment records.
- Set up fermentation experiments and operate different scale of fermenters using NeuGen organisms to produce heterologous compounds
- Operate and monitor fermentation equipment and other auxiliary equipment from start to finish. This includes the upstream process and downstream product isolation.
- Participate in ongoing process improvement and decision for the next step.
- Maintain lab and equipment cleanliness.
- Write SOPs and technical documents as needed to document and improve processes.
- Adhere to all safety and biosafety procedures and actively participate in improving them.
- Willingness to learn new bioprocessing techniques in a highly collaborative and respectful environment.
- Technical understanding of microbial fermentation, product development, QC and QA.
- Strong organization and follow through

- A desire to build and grow with the company and industry
- Excellent verbal/written communication and computer skills required
- Ability to lift 25 kgs occasionally and do some hands-on work in the field with farming clients
- Availability to travel to client site on required basis
- Ability to handle multiple projects and situations.
- Relevant education of College degree or Diploma in the life sciences (Microbiology, Biology, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, Biochemistry), relevant experience in academic or industrial environment Relevant computer skills (Windows, Excel, Word, etc), Strong English.
- Experience in a controlled substance or GMP environment or other regulation will be preferred.
- Additional experience in working with microbial techniques, fermentation and product formulation will also be preferred.
