to perform microbiological testing, analyze samples, and support accurate diagnosis and infection control practices. The role involves laboratory investigations, quality control, and collaboration with clinicians to ensure patient safety and effective treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform microbiological tests on clinical samples
Identify and report bacteria, fungi, parasites, and viruses
Conduct culture, sensitivity, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing
Ensure proper sample handling, processing, and documentation
Maintain laboratory quality standards, SOPs, and biosafety protocols
Assist in infection control surveillance and reporting
Validate test results and prepare accurate laboratory reports
Maintain laboratory equipment and inventory
Participate in audits, quality assurance, and accreditation processes
Qualifications & Requirements:
MSc / MD / DNB in Microbiology
Valid registration with relevant council (if applicable)
Experience in hospital or diagnostic laboratory preferred
Knowledge of NABL / NABH standards is an advantage
Strong analytical and documentation skills
