MIG Welder

A MIG Welder is responsible for joining metal parts using Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding techniques, ensuring that the welded products meet client specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. This role involves interpreting blueprints, preparing materials, operating welding equipment, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Interpret and accurately read blueprints, technical drawings, and work specifications to determine welding requirements and project scope237. Select, measure, cut, and join appropriate metals according to specifications, preparing work surfaces to ensure safe and effective assembly123. Operate MIG welding equipment, adjusting settings such as voltage, amperage, gas flow, and wire feed speed to achieve optimal welds27. Perform welding operations including arc welding, gas cutting, spot welding, and related techniques as needed5. Inspect and test welded joints for strength, defects, and compliance with quality standards during and after completion23. Maintain and clean welding tools, equipment, and the work area regularly to ensure safety and efficiency137. Diagnose and troubleshoot welding equipment issues and irregularities, reporting problems to supervisors and suggesting improvements237. Assist in training apprentices or junior welders and mentor new recruits when required23. Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental regulations to maintain a safe workplace1237. Required Skills and Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or welding certification preferred or required23. Proven experience in MIG welding or related welding roles, with knowledge of welding principles and safety protocols236. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents accurately236. Physical stamina, strength, and dexterity to perform welding tasks and handle materials safely236.
