Job overview and responsibilities
United's Digital Technology Operation collects mountains of data, including operational performance, task sign-offs, schedule reliability performance, Service Management, and more. The Manager wil be responsible to lead the Digital Technology Operation India Analytics and Business Intelligence teams. The Analytics team needs to partner with business owners to pursue opportunities to improve United's Digital Operations, provide data driven insights and drive innovation through analytics across various divisions. This role requires not only analytics skills, but also strategic thinking and strong communication skills. The team will be responsible to deliver the right information to the right people in the right format at the right time, all with the goal of enabling better operational decisions that improve United's Digital Operations, MTTR performance, and productivity.

• Design, develop and automate PowerBI reports for United's leadership, and individual business teams throughout the organization
• Identify opportunities to improve United's Digital Operations and provide various divisions data driven insights through analytics
• Develop improved analysis methodologies and statistical models to improve forecasts, and operational performance, etc.
• Document the Digital Operations data landscape, maintain an inventory of reports, and plan for report consolidation, elimination, and/or improvement
• Continuously interface with business groups throughout Digital Operations to understand organizational needs and design solutions, & IT

Communicate and share updates with US and India based senior leadership, along with putting together regular insight presentations

Qualifications
What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data science or another quantitative field (i.e. mathematics, statistics, economics, etc.)
• 6+ years experience in Data Analysis, Business intelligence, analytics, and data engineering, with 3+ of those years in a Fortune 1000 company
• 1+ year experience in a leadership/supervisory role
• Deeply understands both the business functionality of applications/systems being analyzed and digital performance of the applications/systems providing the functionality
• Develops and implements predictive/prescriptive data business intelligence Experience with ServiceNow / Foundry / Microsoft SQL Server
• Management Studio Previous airline or travel industry experience is a plus Experience with AWS - Redshift, Quicksight, Athena Experience with Big Query
• Develops streamlined and comprehensive data analytics workstreams
• Areas of focus will include, but are not limited to:
• Predictive and prescriptive analytics
• Data Visualizations
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing
• infrastructure for greater scalability
• Modeling and coding of data
• Application performance analysis
• Reporting and automation
• Consulting with data customers
• Intermediate to expert level BI dashboarding experience (e.g. PowerBI, Tibco Spotfire, etc...) to produce meaningful, elegant dashboards.
• Advanced Excel knowledge
• Experience analyzing operational systems: coming up with ideas on dashboards that would provide insights into existing and new applications systems, and also translating insights into non-technical, lay terms, and putting Experience with Quantum Metrics and Akamai, Technologies and languages: Python, Spark, R, etc. Continuous integration & delivery using Agile methodologies Data engineering experience with transportation/airline industry

• Hands-on experience working with massive data sets (SQL and Non-SQL)
• Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship

• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, aviation management or related degree, Operations Research , MBA
• Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate, Power BI Data Analyst Associate, AWS Certified Data Analytics, Enterprise Data Warehouse certificaitons, Palantir, Client Side performance metrics tools e.g. Quantum Metrics cert
• 3+ years in a leadership supervisory role
• 2+ years experience working at a Fortune 500 company
• 1+ years experience working at a International location other than home country
• Experience with Foundry/Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
• Previous airline or travel industry experience is a plus
• Experience with AWS - Redshift, ServiceNow, UDH
• Experience with Big Query
• Experience with Quantum Metrics and Akamai, Technologies and languages: Python, Spark, R, etc.
• Continuous integration & delivery using Agile methodologies
• Data engineering experience with transportation/airline industry
