Position Overview

The Database Mgr IT is responsible for the direct supervision of the database team which includes all database technologies such as SQL, Oracle, MongoDB and others. Database Mgr IT is responsible for ensuring deliverables are deployed in a timely manner and according to published team standards. Responsible for introducing and maintaining highly repeatable and reliable processes, as well as supporting standard and for establishing and leading highly performing, appropriately skilled technical teams.

This position requires a strong command of a variety of technical areas, which may include: applications programming, system design and update, storage and retrieval methods, application performance optimization, system administration, database administration, system architecture, telecommunication, security administration, help desk and desktop support. This position makes decisions that can affect the overall outcome of the business or the company.

• Manages complex system administration and/or development.
• Manages function and maintenance of at least one major subsystem.
• Responsible for supervision and coordination of all technical staff within their area of responsibility.
• Participates in cross functional design and development efforts to ensure optimal end to end solutions.
• Fosters the technical \xe2\x80\x9ccommunity\xe2\x80\x9d concept, defining disciplines and collaborative standards.
• Provides mentoring and career planning and promotes employee satisfaction.
• Defines and promotes standards for coding, testing, deployment to Production.
• Defines and ensures compliance of standards for building systems and configuring operating systems.
• Defines and ensures security compliance.
• Supports published business Service Level Agreements.
• Provides guidance to technical team and clarifies project scope and objectives.
• Directs revision of existing programs and/or infrastructure components to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
• Prepares proposals and reports as needed for senior management.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll need to join Insight

• BA/BS degree required, Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 4 years business experience depending on area.
• 4 - 8 years technical experience in the relevant disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of relevant technologies
• Understands Insight-sponsored management methodologies.
• Strong understanding of business rules for key business functions
• Strong understanding of industry-standard technical practices and emerging technologies
• Able to perform well in a multi-tasking environment.
• Strong managerial and supervisory skills
• Complies with Insight standard code of conduct and treats sensitive employee situations discretely and confidentially.
