Job Overview

TE Connectivity\'s Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • R&D core team member on prototyping and NPD projects.
  • Supporting the team on conceptualization, design and development of medical products to meet customer requirements within scope (mechanical design, performance and quality), schedule (on time delivery), and budget constraints.
  • Support the developments of prototyping and testing lab.
  • Support sourcing of all resources needed to run the prototyping systems.
  • Support senior engineers in optimizing the processes.
  • Partner with external vendors to specify, develop and commission new process technologies.
  • Assist other engineers in setting up of new prototype lines and manufacturing equipment.
  • Design/Source Equipment and tooling required to meet both the capability & capacity requirements.
  • Work on LEANPD principles in new product development projects
  • All other duties as required
  • Support in processing deliverables including process design studies, laboratory and pilot plant prototypes and process specifications.
  • Prepare and share technical reports, process specifications and flow diagrams for any assigned projects.
  • Plan, organize and execute R&D, NPD project work in close co-ordination with R&D/manufacturing/operations team.
  • Carry out process experiments, organize internal/external testing to generate early insight on process feasibility, manufacturing safety and early detection of RISK involved in assigned projects.
  • Work on creating fixtures as and when required
  • Provide technical support in identifying new processes or improvement opportunities
  • Liaising with suppliers, customers and manufacturing/development staff
  • Writing reports and documentation
  • Analyzing test and failure data to identify opportunities to improve
Candidate Desired Profiles:
  • Bachelor\'s in mechanical engineering with minimum 5 years\' experience in a related regulated medical device environment. Or a master\'s degree with 2-3 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Hands on experience in SAP, Creo, SolidWorks, Engineering.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization, education, and experience.
  • Technical contribution through creative product design solutions that have been successfully launched into the market.
  • Ability to apply common sense, understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form; Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
