Job Description

A Meter Reader is responsible for collecting accurate data on utility usage by reading meters (electric, gas, or water) and recording the readings. They also report any irregularities or potential problems with the meters or connections to the utility company. A Meter Reader Supervisor, on the other hand, oversees the meter reading operations, ensuring goals are met, providing guidance to employees, and troubleshooting issues to maximize efficiency. Meter Reader:

Core Responsibilities:

Reading meters for electricity, gas, or water. Recording readings accurately and timely. Reporting any issues with meters or connections. May be required to disconnect or reconnect utility services. May answer customer questions or refer them to customer service.

Key Skills:

Accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to follow procedures and instructions. Basic math skills (for calculating usage). Good communication and customer service skills.

Physical Requirements:

May involve standing, walking, and some bending or crouching. May require lifting and carrying equipment. May need to traverse uneven terrain.
Meter Reader Supervisor:
